What is the cost of entrance to Pompeii?
$16 for adults; $14 for visitors in groups of 10 or more; $8 for children under 12 accompanied by adult; $14 for college students (with I.D.) and senior citizens (65 years and over); $8 at the door for active members of the U.S. military (with ID). Admission includes audio tour.
How do I book a school group?
Because there is often extra planning when bringing a school group, this option is not available online. Please call 205.254.2318 to book your school group.
Is there a catalog available?
The Pompeii catalog will be available in mid-September. Please check with our store to get your copy, 205.254.2777.
How long will it take to view the exhibition?
We anticipate that most people should plan for one hour to tour the exhibition.
Are cameras allowed in the exhibition?
No cameras or camera phones will be allowed in the exhibition.
What are your holiday hours?
The Museum is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, as well as all Mondays. We are open all other days through the run of the exhibition.
Is Pompeii: Tales from an Eruption traveling to other cities in the United States?
After leaving Birmingham, the exhibition will travel to the Houston Museum of Fine Art. Houston is the venue on its international tour. It will retire to Naples, Italy. (Pompeii has already been presented at the Field Museum in Chicago.)
