To  enhance your experience of Pompeii: Tales from an Eruption,  book a tour of the Museum's permanent collection in addition to visiting the  special exhibition. Learn more about mythology across a variety of  cultures, explore the influence of classical Greek and Roman art on later  periods of art history, or learn what was happening in art throughout the  world at the time Pompeii flourished. There is no charge for these docent-led tours. To schedule these or other tours of the Museum's  collection, contact Sally Stephens at 205.254.2318.

SPECIAL NEEDS

In order to  give all children a  wonderful learning experience, the Department of Education and Public  Programs would like teachers to consider the following when booking a tour  for children who have learning and/or behavioral disorders, difficulty  speaking English, are deaf, blind, or have other special needs:
* Advise  the tour coordinator of your group's special needs.
* Request additional  docents.
* Have extra chaperones accompany your group.

SELF-GUIDED TOURS

Self-guided groups are welcome  to visit the museum. We recommend the following guidelines:
1.   Self-guided tour groups may enter the museum only during regular  museum hours.
2.  To reserve specific galleries, call at least three  weeks prior to your planned visit. (Gallery space is limited.)
3.   Free audio guides or scripts for the deaf are available at the  Information Desk at the Parking Lot/Auditorium entrance.

Education programs are supported by the Alabama Power Foundation.
