Pompeii-inspired recipes

Recline
to dine

>>Good southern manners might dictate otherwise, but Pompeians dined on reclining couches like the one pictured
here. Often, these triclinia were shared by more than one guest, all of whom laid back and got cozy before the feasting began.

Decorate with Wedgwood

<<Objects found at the excavation sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum inspired the Neoclassical themes used by 18th century decorative arts manufacturers such as Josiah Wedgwood. Take ideas from the Museum's Dwight and Lucille Beeson Wedgwood Gallery and the special exhibition Artes Etrvriae Renascvntvr.

Pick a Pompeian grape
>>Sean Meyer, master sommelier candidate and wine consultant speaks about the wines of the Pompeii region and beyond. He is formerly of Birmingham’s Highlands Bar & Grill, and was lead sommelier at California's Bouchon restaurant.
