The Museum is experiencing record crowds during Pompeii. Please purchase advance tickets online or by calling 877.4.POMPEII before you arrive at the Museum. Be aware that, even with timed tickets, there may be be up to an hour wait. We apologize for this inconvenience, but invite you to enjoy the Museum's renowned permanent collection, to which admission is free year-round.

Driving Directions:

The Museum is located in downtown Birmingham at 2000 8th Avenue North, and is easily accessible from I-65, I/20-I/59, and Hwy 31.

From I-65, merge onto I-20 E/I-59 N. Take the 22nd Street Exit. At your first light, take a right onto 8th Avenue North. Go one block and you will see the Museum on the adjacent corner. Turn right onto Richard Arringon, Jr. Blvd. (21st Street) and limited parking is available in the lot directly behind the Museum.

From Red Mountain Expressway (Hwy 31 North), keep to the left. Exit at Carraway Blvd.  Turn left at the traffic light.  Go to 8th Avenue North, turn right and proceed to Richard Arrington, Jr. Blvd. You will see the Museum on the adjacent corner. Turn right onto Richard Arringon, Jr. Blvd. (21st Street) and limited parking is available in the lot directly behind the Museum.
